Whether you use Microsoft Live Meeting 2007 as a hosted service or through the more advanced Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, the Polycom CX5000 features two powerful video presentations that can be viewed by all remote conference participants. One video shows a panoramic view of the conference room in full 360 degree, making each one feel that they are active and present. The other video focuses on the current active speaker. This feature automatically tracks the flow of conversation, making sure that the active speaker is easily identified throughout the session. There is even a function that would allow you to record the entire meeting for later playbacks and review
Installing and using the Polycom CX5000 is a snap. With its plug-and-play capability, you just plug it into the USB port of the computer that is running Microsoft Live Meeting 2007 or Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 client, and it’s ready to use. Every participant within the conference room can do the same using their laptop computer running the same application. They could then immediately begin sharing content, video and voice to every other participant in the conference. As for the other participants who are remotely dispersed, there is no need to install a Polycom CX5000 at their end. All that is needed is to plug their computers onto the network and they can instantly get a view of the entire conference taking place
The Polycom CX5000 unified conference station comes with a high resolution backlit LCD display, a 12 key telephone keypad, and navigation keys. The Polycom CX5000 also features caller ID functions, an integrated 360 degree camera, console based loudspeaker and directional microphones. The Polycom CX5000can connect to any computer that runs on Windows XP (with SP2 or later installed) and Windows Vista. Online connection using wired Ethernet connection is best preferred for quality performance
