The Cisco SPA 303 is designed to be an affordable, 30-line IP phone for small scale businesses such as the home office. With its simple design and standard 12 keypad layout, it looks and feels more like your traditional office phone. However, behind this is a powerful IP phone that comes with hundreds of preset and configurable settings

The phone has a two-port switch to make it operate seamlessly on standard VoIP lines. This allows high quality voice communication between people who are either located within the same area or with those who are widely distributed across the globe. The advantages of the Cisco SPA 303 can further be expanded when interfaced with the Cisco Unified Communication 500 series operating in SPCP mode

Configuration of this phone can be done conveniently using the built in menu driven interface. A web-based user interface is also available for configuring user settings. Preloading and reconfiguration of multiple units can also be done remotely by administrators, thereby saving on time and expense. Software upgrades can also be performed onsite or remotely using standard encryption protocols. Different user levels can be set during configuration to enforce better security and authentication

It also provides various phone functionalities. It has three voice lines for user flexibility. The phone can be operated using the quality handset, or can also be made to operate hands off as a speaker phone. The LCD display comes with a 128 x 64 monochrome graphic format. There is a line status indicator that will constantly provide a visual indication of the caller name, number and line used. Call logging allows instant recall and redials, and can also record up to 60 individual entries for calls made, calls answered and missed calls. The phone also provides support for hot line and warm line automatic calling. The personal directory can hold as many as 100 auto-dial entries. Highly secured encrypted voice communication is integrated in the phone as well

Other attractive features found in every Cisco SPA 303 include caller ID function for caller names and number; call transferring that can either be attended or blind calls, shared line appearances, and on-hook dialing. You can also engage in multi party call conferencing through local mixing or via external conference bridge. You can even use the Cisco SPA 303 as an intercom and do group paging to local colleagues
