SIP ALG Workaround For Virgin Media Superhub

The Virigin Media Superhub does not have the ability to turn off SIP ALG, this can cause a number of problems if you are trying to use a VoIP telephone system

A workaround for this would be to put your Virgin Media Superhub in "modem mode" and then put an additional router in that supports the turning off of SIP ALG, such as the Linksys E1200

In order to put your Virgin Media Superhub in "modem mode" you will need to follow these instructions

1. Ensure that you are connected to the Virgin Media Superhub2. Browse to the IP address of your Virgin Media Superhub router, by defaul this is
3. Login into your Virgin Media Superhub
4. Then click "Super Hub Settings" and go to the "Modem Mode" section
5. Then click "Enable Modem Mode"

6. Click "Yes" to proceed
7. Apply the settings

In order for your new router to access the internet it needs to be plugged into the fourth ethernet port on the Virgin Media Superhub, the port closest to the fibre connector
