The Cisco SPA 501G is a fully featured, business grade IP phone solution designed for small businesses. It was designed to operate seamlessly and with minimal effort by directly connecting to an IP service provider or IP private branch exchange
The phone has eight voice lines, as well as four independent SIP registrations, providing great user flexibility and maximised productivity. It also has support for an Interactive Voice Response or IVR, which is used to control the user interface
Remote administration is possible when managing and configuring the Cisco 501G. This provides a cost and time efficient means of performing activities like in-service software upgrades, troubleshooting and performance measurement. Remote provisioning is actually one standard benefit that is enjoyed in Cisco branded SPA series phone. Network connectivity is possible via the two 10/100 BaseT Ethernet ports. It has support for PoE and PC port as well. You can actually connect a computer via the Ethernet port, so the computer and IP phone can use the same network cable line
Unlike other IP phones, the Cisco 501G has enhanced speaker quality and support for wideband audio, ensuring that conversations are crystal clear and of the best possible quality. Users can utilise the handset just like an ordinary phone, or can opt to use it as a speakerphone for complete hands-off operation using the built in high quality microphone and speaker. There is also a headset jack for users who prefer to use one
The Cisco 501G comes with a standard 12 button dialing pad. There are dedicated keys for constantly used functions like call redial, call cancel, call on hold and call transfer. There is also a button that will allow you to instantly initiate a call conference. Voicemail messages are easily retrieved via a special retrieval button, along with a voicemail message waiting indicator. Other buttons present on the Cisco 501G phones are illuminated on / off indicators for Speakerphone, headset and audio mute
The Cisco SPA 501G can be placed on the deskt, or wall mounted using brackets that can be purchased separately. This makes an ideal installation in lobbies, hallways, factory floors, retail outlets, and warehouses. It is powered by a mini switching power supply that comes with the package
The Cisco SPA 501G is covered by a 1-year limited warranty on hardware and 90-day warranty on software. Also, software upgrades and bug fixes are provided for free during the first 12 months after purchase
